Correction Oh spewer of Liberal Lies. The Liberals caused the housing mess. Spare me the unintellectual, economically illiterate tripe about how tax cuts caused a lending crisis of over-extension of credit to people who had literally no documented means to pay on the loans! Especially when it was (GW) BUSH, along with Senators McCain (R-AZ), Shelby (R-AL) and Ensign (R-NV) who wrote/co-sponsored a bill to reign in Fannie and Freddie's and the FHA's practices of encouraging private lenders to bundle bad home loans together to fray the cost! It was Senator Dodd (D-CT) and Rep. Frank (D-MA) who blocked any such legislation. The housing crash was caused by Liberals. They used their favorite tactics of crying racist, unfair, affordable housing. They forced the banks through a piece of Legislation known as the "Community Re-Investment Act" which Clinton put on steroids. This FORCED banks to make housing loans, in percentages of up to 50% of their total loan portfolio, to people who could not even pay the light bill on time. These was done by Senators Obama, Reid ,Barney Frank , Maxine Waters Chuck Schumer, Chris Dodd. When the banks resisted at first Obama used the old play book of "Rules for Radicals." He bussed in rent a mobs and sent them to bank lobbies, bank officers homes etc. When the banks finally agreed it was with the understanding that Fannie MAE and FReddie MAC would back the loans, SO that meant the US taxpayer. Starting as early as 2002 Conservatives started to see the problem with loaning 400K to a guy who could not keep his bills [aid on time. However, every time the measure was bought up in the Congress the Liberals named above went to filibuster it. The Congress finally convened hearings on the matter in 2004 by REPUBLICAN DEMAND! Check out the video below. All the Dems in the video are attacking the Auditor and saying he was the problem. The Dems even wanted to LOWER the restrictions on Housing saying the program was great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MGT_cSi7Rs Now then as Conservatives were calling the mess a house of cards. One of Obama's advisors , named Franklin Raines who was CEO of FAnnie MAe, was using MASSIVE accounting fraud to hide the losses which were running into the hundreds of billions. Raines was CEO for over 6 years while FAnnie and FREDDIE MAC bought up over two trillion in new loans. This accounting fraud would literally make ENRON look like a convenience store robbery. Raines did this to make sure he and his upper mgmnt hit their profit targets. Thats right while Fannie and FReddie was losing hundreds of billions he had them on paper making money to his bonuses. He was personally paid over 90 Million dollars to run Fannie right into the ground. As he was doing this all the Liberals were saying we need to do more and create more easy money for people who can not get a car loan and let them buy a 400K house with 108% financing. That was also another liberal brainstorm. Liberals said it was not "FAIR" (love that..what exactly does that mean?) that people needed a down payment to buy a house. So like good liberals they created/forced banks to loan money and then give people extra money on top of the house. So on a 400K house people could borrow 432K (108%). WIth nothing of theirs in the deal. Here is a Congressman catching Frnklin Raines in "exxagerations." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4NZGAdHvl8 So to sum up Liberals created the bubble, hid the problems and then use the favorite tactic of Conservatives are trying to stop regulation of "BIG" business. The truth is they fought every attempt to regulate the runaway bubble. They wanted their constituents to be able to buy the American dream and not pay for it. That ends todays Lesson. Remember Liberals ALWAYS LIE!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4NZGAdHvl8

Bush trashed America, President Bush saved America, wake up buckwheat, there is no telling how many terrorists and Al Queda had inside the country; President Bush protected us; he looked the other way with Wall Street as a capitalist President and like they did in the 1920's, why in the f was there a FDIC. The system should have crashed hard in 2009 with no bailouts. Do you really think a stock then is worth 5 times as much now or more. I am going to relish the day the Republicans are back in the saddle and am sick of the gay rhetoric routine.
by October 25, 2010 9:54 PM EDT
Rick, thanks for the primer. Never knew that GW wrote/co-sponsored legislation in the House or Senate. Very novel approach to our system. There is a reason conservative starts with a con.

Once again a Liberal when they lose they factual argument tries to change the topic and resort to a personal insult. I wonder why that is.....? Is it because they do not have any FACTUAL information that would sway one's opinion???
by RickChicago1 October 25, 2010 8:57 PM EDT
About time some Democrat stood up to this guy with the paper thin resume. His arrogance needs an adjustment. I am truly amazed that this does not happen more often. This Marxist has driven the Democratic Party off the cliff and they went along for the ride. Now America is pissed and all these Dems are looking at being unemployed in 7 days. Back then Obamboozler and Pelosi told them to go along with the Marxist legislation of ObamaCare and they would get shielded from voter anger. Well just like everything else that came out of Obamadinejad's mouth it was just another lie as he used them to get his Socialist wet dream through Congress. I bet that we are going to see someone REALLY go off on the Annointed One and the Liberal Media will as usual cover for the Liberal. 7 DAYS AND COUNTING...... THROW OUT THE LIBERALS!!

"rick,"..... your republican brainwashing is showing. we pay more for health care when people go to emergency rooms without insurance. do you get that? if someone without insurance goes to the hospital we (WE AMERICANS) pay for it. it is payed for out of our taxes. by offering insurance to all, the rates go down. the hate mongering of republicans is devastating america and we need to stop you people from throwing everyone down into the gutter with reagan, bush, bush, cheney, kkkarl rove, limbaugh, beck, hannity.... hate and fear politics of the conservative christian (christian, HA!), neocons is poison. vote for democrats and liberals and save america/
by RickChicago1 October 25, 2010 9:36 PM EDT
addnarm you must be watching only the Liberal Media. RATES ARE NOT GOING DOWN! With all the new mandates the LEft shoved in business are being hit with massive rate increases. ATT said that it would cost a BILLION dollars to implement ObamaCare. Caterpillar said the same thing. All across America companies big and small are being hit with huge increases even from insurance companies that are not-for-profit companies like Kaiser Permanente. The companies can not take 15-20% increases in costs and not pass them on. No industry can. But that is the REAL point with ObamaCare. Force other companies to accept government mandated prices increases after government mandate price increases and then the Liberals say "hey we will offer you the public option for 50% less. Millions and millions would take that. Then the Left gets what it REALLY wants. Big Government controls all healthcare. Controls all taxes on health care. Then we descend into a European style Socialist economy where nothing grows and the Left controls all your health decisions. It is the WHOLE ball of wax for the Left. Control healthcare and you control everything. By the way.... Any one see that over 65% of ALL Americans want this Leftist bill repealed. JOB ONE NEXT WEDS!!!

rick you are a moron and nobody reads your comments. i don't even read them i just respond to tell you you are a republican dupe.
by RickChicago1 October 26, 2010 12:06 AM EDT
Typical Liberal!! When they lose the argument on a factual basis (Which is all the time)they pivot to a personal attack. Hey addnarm which chapter is that in Rules for Radicals? You know the one section where Saul Alinsky says fix the target... personalize the target. Liberals always resort to a personal attack. I guess the next thing you will call me is a homophobic and bigoted racist who is a well known supporter of a local Nazi reenactment group. You guys REALLY need to come up with something new. This is getting REALLY weak.
by brynaweiss October 25, 2010 8:17 PM EDT
Obama had done a fabulous job bringing us Health Care finally- how incredible- actually was successful in starting the economic revival (God knows where we'd be if he hadn't gone along with Bush's stimulus and taken it far enough to make a difference)-, and too many other things to list here. And that's in 1 1/2 years. It took Bush 8 years to create all the problems, which Republicans seem to forget, conveniently. Personally, I admire his loyalty to a friend and putting it above politics. As far as Caprio's disgusting, disrespectful, childish remark, he is not a man who should be representing America.

The stimulus was unethical and has actually hurt my standard of living. Again with stocks on the rise and overvalued, now gas is starting to go up along with food such as wheat, corn and other items that naturally get inflated along with other commodities. Bush almost did the right thing and have the whole of Wall Street tank, but stocks should not have gone back up so quickly before unemployment and war issues resolved first. Now without a pay raise, I pay more for gas, food and shelter and my standard of living has gone down.

The question is not whether we have lost ground. The question is how much worse it would have been had your advice been followed. The experts disagree with you. Why do you think you know better than they do? TruthTeller
by RickChicago1 October 25, 2010 9:41 PM EDT
Obamboozler has lied about that bill since it first came up. Lets start with the cost. The CBO now says that it will cost 2.4 trillion to do what the law requires.( Google it)I guess old Obamadinejad was a little off when he said it would only cost 970 Billion. But hey its only off by a trillion and a half. And the Annointed One is not that good with facts anyway. Remember when he said that the bill would 1. create jobs,2. Save money of the long term and 3. Would lower are deficit. and finally he would not sign it if it added "ten cents" to the deficit. Just another lie from the Marxist.
by spaceatoms October 25, 2010 9:52 PM EDT
Why did they make the FDIC in the past? If you look at it transparently then you don't see anything, but if you look closely, it was designed with 2008 in mind, when the country was led more by the Constitution than globalism and consumption.
by mjlewis6 October 25, 2010 7:42 PM EDT
I recall when the Louisiana Republican Party nominated DAvid Duke, a bona fide KKK kind of guy to run for Governor. Even President Bush, Sr. decided enough was enough and he encouraged Louisiana voters to vote for the Democratic incumbent despite the candidate's own legal problems with corruption, something the President can understand clearly in the Republican party. Nothing new.

First, respect is earned (especially when it comes to politicians), not OWED to anyone! Second, rejecting BO might get him more votes than getting his endorsement would give him! It certainly isn't going to hurt him much!

The level of disrespect in this country for a President is disheartening. Regardless of what you think of his policies - he is the Comander in Chief. That said, he is due a level of respect. The politicians and people in this country need to grow up and learn basic social skills.

Ahh forget that idea, Bush was never elected. He was APPOINTED by the court's right wing side. Sooooo, he was never MY president. Sorry you got things confused . . . glad to help set you straight on the facts.

The people of this country need to wake up to the fact that Barry Soetoro is a fraud and is illegally holding office because he isn't a U.S. born citizen!
by usa2uk October 25, 2010 7:06 PM EDT
If the national ratings now were the same as when he was voted in then maybe he would have that same level of respect. There is a reason why those ratings have dropped. Respect is not a given whoever you are, it has to be earned by a persons own speech & actions.

I never like Bush Jr, but I never went around with signs that made him out to be Hitler. I thought that most of the things that Bush did were bad for America but I never, ever treated him with the amount of disrespect that a majority of Republicans and more than likely all of the tea party people show our current President. They most not like America and Democracy to much.

"Dissent is Patriotic" and "Question Authority" ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Oh for goodness sakes. Bush had the respect from the entire world until it became obvious that his policies were destroying not only our country but the world. People like you are making our country a laughing stock and it is really sad. The world is seeing how intolerant, hateful, mean spirited and YES racist some Americans are. Interesting how our country wants to dictate to the world civil rights and decent behavior but then we see how people have just lost their minds after the American people had the audacity to elect an African American Democrat to clean up the mess Republicans made of our country. The way the Republicans/right wing/tea party/conservatives/Obama haters have carried on for the past two years is unpatriotic, anti American, and aiding and abetting all those who want to destroy our country. Congratulations for doing the job Bin Laden started. People like you must feel proud to disrespect our country and our rule of laws. It certainly says a whole lot more about you haters than it says about our President.

obama is like bush, the man he replaced, in that one either loves obama or hates him, applauds obama or criticizes him, gives obama credit or blames him for all problems and issue gone wrong, going wrong. bush had the same thing during his administration. bottom line, are you better off after two years of obama and ruling democrats? each u.s. citizen must decide in this coming election.

Don't forget that Obama inherited a HUGE MESS and even with the party of NO blocking, stalling and filibustering Bills that would help with jobs recovery and an economic recovery. The GOP is STILL to blame. This is just ONE of their most recent jobs killing efforts. BUSH was NO better! ------Republicans block bill to prevent jobs from moving overseas......... Senate Democrats attempted to pass one more jobs-related bill on Tuesday (Sept 28) that would make it more difficult for U.S. companies to ship jobs overseas, but Senate Republicans successfully filibustered the bill. This latest filibuster is another sign the Republicans truly do not care about the American people and are more worried about corporate interests. ........ BUSH: SENDING JOBS OVERSEAS HELPS THE U.S. February 10, 2004 ....... WASHINGTON ? The movement of American factory jobs and white-collar work to other countries is part of a positive transformation that will enrich the U.S. economy over time, even if it causes short-term pain and dislocation, the Bush administration said yesterday. The embrace of foreign "outsourcing," an accelerating trend that has contributed to U.S. job losses in recent years and has become an issue in the 2004 elections, is contained in the president's annual report to Congress on the U.S. economy. ........ http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2001854367_bushecon10.html

Of course you would, All Iranians want him to be Muslim. (He isn't)
by RickChicago1 October 25, 2010 8:51 PM EDT
If he isnt then why did he in an interview with George Stephanopoulos from ABC say that "his Muslim faith was important to him"? Why did he cover the Christian religious symbols at a Church? He went to that "church" in Chicago for political reasons, all the players in the black community went there including Oprah. Why has he not attended/picked a church in DC? Your guy Obamadinejad is a muslim. His father was a muslim and he went to a Muslim school in Indonesia. Dont say that that was because thats all they have over their. It is just not true. IT was a choice.
